ABOUT
UMEED-HOPE INC

On a local level in Indianapolis, our mental health professionals and attorneys provide assistance to family violence survivors in emergency situations to produce treatment plans. As of late, we have ventured out into different forms of advocacy. Our responsibilities now consist of proactive approaches including coming up with programming to shape the future of the youth, producing content with resources to reach a larger audience on social media, conversing with influential people to join our efforts financially or professionally, and coordinating a counseling program for youth that request direction shaping their future endeavors.

Educating others on family violence and advocating for victims of family violence comes in many shapes and forms. A lot of initiatives that we have seen ONLY have a reactive approach where they respond to traumatic incidents to assist after they have occured. Umeed-Hope wants to bring the tools needed to address triggers, signs, and the beginning of an escalation of a toxic environment before the cycle of violence begins.

With your help Umeed-Hope wants to provide effective and culturally appropriate tools to respond to specific situations surrounding family violence and instill the confidence in individuals to reach out for help when needed.

We all have to change the attitude behind seeking mental health help and reaching out to have important conversations we feel like we can’t have with others. It doesn’t make a person weak when they seek help. It takes an extremely strong person to be vulnerable and bare their wounds for others to see.

Umeed-Hope doesn’t want to just build an organization with a couple of people to direct resources; We want to build a community that will work together to heal one another and form a safe space for the future. Collectively we can assemble a healing community that actively engages in conversations regarding crucial topics including but not limited to: toxic relationships, parental attachment problems, damaging coping skills, the pressure of expectations of the community and family, gender roles, and much more.

As our membership grows we will hold community events where we connect people from different age groups to learn from one another and come up with a plan to heal moving forward together. We are interested in uplifting the community’s mental health through engaging programming like sports events, community field days, round tables, and other open forums where we can actually sit, talk, and learn from one another. What’s missing has been a safe place that now Umeed-Hope can be.

Reach out to us via email at umeedhopeindy@gmail.com regarding needing assistance, wanting to join our team, and what you would like to see from us.

We look forward to engaging and growing with all of you.
